If you have three must-haves for your wedding they should be: stunning natural light, great ambiance, and delicious food. From there your wedding style is completely up to you.
Thankfully, The Grand Event Center, offers a blank palate that you can paint your dream wedding on. It also includes all your must haves! With industrial-meets-rustic brickwork and floor to ceiling windows, our Grand Ballroom is the perfect place to plan a modern-rustic wedding. Here are some tips on how to pull off the look.
The Dress – you’ll want to find something that flatters your shape so use a trendy mermaid or a-line silhouette that has a touch of the classic like an embroidered bodice. Or find a flowy ball gown type dress that has a slightly modern-whimsy to it because of the variety of layers.
The Photos – try finding a spot that has a pop of color and maybe even a bit of local history. We love some of the warehouses in Italian Village or German Village. But you can also find lots of cute spots right in Grandview. Find lots of street scape scenes and embrace getting married in an urban area.
The Drinks – take a play on the classic “Something Blue” for a wedding signature drink at cocktail hour and have your guest try hypnotiq and champagne.
The Guest Book – have friends, family and other loved guests type out poems, quotes or well-wishes on an old-fashioned typewriter instead of signing the traditional guest book.
The Decor – Use old books, and vintage items like cameras and old spools of yarn to help create the vintage vibe in your beautiful urban wedding venue in Grandview. Keep floral arrangements simple and sparse.
The Cake – try a naked cake (one without frosting covering it). Go all natural with a vanilla bean cake, or add a vintage pop of color with a red velvet naked cake like this one we’ve fallen in love with.
No matter what your wedding style, we can help you make it uniquely yours at The Grand Event Center near Columbus in Grandview Yard. Find out more about our wedding venue here.
